Why we need to think afresh

Leaders need new ways to think to steer their organization through a changing world.

“New ways to think” doesn’t mean recycled management theory, leadership self-help, complex hypotheses, or turgid reports.

It means “new ways to think”.

New ways to think has a formal name – “metacognition”.

Metacognition is at the heart of how organizations use AI effectively.

More important, metacognitive change is the foundation of evolutionary human systems. If a bunch of people need to get out of a reactive or imitative mode (where the environment is in charge), and want to take ownership & shape the environment in which they operate, then they need to move up the ladder of metacognition:
